Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. The Little Dog were delighted to officially present a cheque to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home at this year’s 120th Crufts Dog Show for money raised from their Give a Dog/Cat a Home project.
The two books written and illustrated by the Little Dog’s creative director Anna Danielle feature the amazing true stories of some of Battersea’s ex-residents.
Even better, the books have been given a second reprint so it’s possible that the current £8732 total could be even higher.
Thanks to the success of the first project Battersea Dogs and Cats Home are teaming up again to become the Little Dog’s chosen charity for 2011, they will be the main beneficiaries from sales across the entire Little Dog Laughed Christmas range. Company Director Gavin Smith said “It would be such an achievement for a little company like ours to break the £10K mark so we are working hard to make our Christmas offerings too lovely to ignore.” The only downside of working with Battersea is having to strongly resist the urge to come home with at least fifteen winsome scruffy mutts!
Anna Danielle studied printed textiles at Winchester School of Art. Her final degree work featured cows, lots and lots of cows. Each student was required to have a quote or sentence that best described their work. As Anna’s artwork has always been animal based, simple and full of gentle humour and being in a bovine frame of mind she chose the line from the Over the Moon nursery rhyme “the little dog laughed to see such fun” which later became her final choice of company name.
