Oh William. Be still my beating heart. I get lots of pictures sent to me or posted on my Little Dog Facebook page and it really is a joy to receive them. Every now and then I receive a photo which makes my heart skip a beat. This one by the artist Ann Hyde of her gorgeous muse William the Lurcher and his pal Hamish did just that.It stalked my tiny brain for well over a week and I’m extremely grateful to Ann for allowing me to draw from it. Ann has been sketching William everyday for 3 years and posting the result on her daily blog. Such a lovely project. Here’s the link if you’d like to see more. http://studiohyde.blogspot.co.uk
Anna Danielle studied printed textiles at Winchester School of Art. Her final degree work featured cows, lots and lots of cows. Each student was required to have a quote or sentence that best described their work. As Anna’s artwork has always been animal based, simple and full of gentle humour and being in a bovine frame of mind she chose the line from the Over the Moon nursery rhyme “the little dog laughed to see such fun” which later became her final choice of company name.
Whilst studying for her textile degree, Anna had her first experience of designing greeting cards. That was her eureka moment and 18 years on she is still creating cards and gifts inspired by her love of all things four legged and furry. She primarily works with watercolour and pen and gets much of her inspiration from the photos and anecdotes loyal Little Dog followers send to her via email or her Facebook page.
