It’s almost time to climb back into the Little Dog van and head off to the Birmingham NEC for our last trade show of the year, Autumn Fair 2016.
(Hall 4 Stand D02 if you were thinking of dropping by!)
This time we have 3 brands to squeeze onto our little display space as Douglas The Boy Wonder will be launching his debut collection at this show. We previewed our little chap back in February and he piqued a lot of peoples interest which boosted our confidence greatly. So for the last six months we’ve been designing, sampling and fine tuning all things Douglas. It has been exciting, inspiring, all consuming and at times utterly frustrating. Who knew a colour could bring you to your knees!
We’ve based his new gift lines around this tote bag and items you might find inside a ladies handbag. Douglas is about clean & simple design and practicality which is why we opted for oil cloth, it’s wipe clean all the way for us! My personal favourite product is the Douglas glasses case. We sampled it in tin and fabric but the PU won hands down. It feels as lovely as it looks and having been told by various factories that it would be easier to put a man on the moon than have a red flock interior, I smile every time I open it. Just wish I wore glasses!
With regards to our “little dog laughed” brand we’ve got lots of new lines perfect for stocking fillers and table presents, my favourites are the chunky flip notebooks but then again the trinket trays have turned out rather nicely too. Of course there is the annual calendar & diary offering featuring lots of furry Superstars who entered our yearly competition and inspired 24 brand new original artworks. We’ve sold out of the dog diaries by October for the last three years so fingers crossed everyone will be just as delighted with this year’s efforts.
Anyway, the brochure has been finished and printed, the stand designed & colours chosen, data bases updated, price sheets created, social media posts scheduled, which clears 3 days next week to pack the display stock, sort the props and arrange the card display boards. Easy!
