Douglas The Boy Wonder. Arriving late October early November 2017
After some great feedback at the Spring Fair, Douglas launched his debut collection at the beginning of September at the NEC and the lovely news is the buyers liked him. Rather a lot!
His first collection is due in stock at Little Dog Towers around the end of October/ early November. Due to the wonders of technology, our technical ignorance and potential brand placement conflict we can’t actually make him live on this website until he physically arrives in our furry little paws. Douglas The Boy Wonder was discovered in a little antique shop in deepest, darkest Norfolk. His fur is patchy, his stuffing is loose and his wheels are missing. Douglas (never Doug), loves the beach, long walks, flea markets, good quality sausages and a nice bit of cheese. He has a penchant for neckerchiefs and a bit of an obsession with all things red, especially balls, rarely leaving home without one. Douglas knows very little about his past but he is on a mission to find his original wheels.This partly explains his love of flea markets and car boot sales but doesn’t really explain his freqenting, testing and rating of the good, honest, quality pubs of Britain. By day Douglas The Boy Wonder is the face for “the little dog laughed”promoting all their latest products with style and originality. By night he is just a little dog standing in front of the world wanting nothing more than to be loved and adored by all.
With contemporary, considered and fresh as his watch words, Anna Danielle has created Douglas products that are both stylish and practical. Her love of Norway and the influence of clean and simple Scadinivian design resonates across the range.The attention to detail from the little red Douglas buttons & tags to the swing labels which unfold into a red ball shape to tell his story will delight any dog loving perfectionist’s heart! Each product has been lovingly designed and thoughtfully considered with the end user in mind.
At the Spring Fair preview, we showcased a mix of practical oilcloth bags, fabric kitchen products and tin mugs. With the tote bag being the firm favourite we decided to change course and centre the first phase of Douglas gifts on items you might find in a ladies tote or shopper bag with follow up gift lines to create a strong Douglas The Boy Wonder story. Anna has returned from the Autumn Fair bursting with renewed enthusiasm & vigour to continue with Phase Two and is desperate to get started on fabric designs for Phase Three!
