2019’s Search for a calendar & diary superstar is now ON!
For those of you familiar with the artist Anna Danielle or the card & gift company “the little dog laughed” you’ll know all about Anna’s annual Search for a Superstar competition.
For those of you new to this competition, then let me explain some more. Every year around April and May Anna puts out a request for pet dog or cat photos. She has one month to create 24 new artworks which she will use in the calendar and diary offerings for 2019. This year as a celebration of their 20th anniversary there is an increase in the variety of calendars and diaries on offer which means there will be more chances for your pet to enter the Hall of Fame as one of the Little Dog’s muses.
Interested in entering? Then read on for more details.
Post any number of photos on the Little Dog’s Facebook page under the competition post or email them directly to anna@thelittledog.co.uk. Action poses, photos full of personality and lots of detail about your furry loved ones are all big pluses. This is one project where waxing lyrical about your gorgeous one will never be met by a stifled yawn. The more you tell Anna and send her greatly helps improve the odds of that random spark of inspiration which leads to a “Yes, your furry one is a calendar superstar!”.
Your entries can be past or present and previous Superstar winners are more than welcome to attempt to retain their calendar month title.
Prize Details
And in return for your efforts you will receive 3 complimentary copies of whichever 2019 calendar or diary your pet appears in plus a bespoke limited edition print. In addition you will also receive complimentary samples of any product the design might subsequently appear on. These may include greeting cards, mint tins, coasters or textiles.
The closing date for entries is Friday the 18th of May.
Email all submissions anna@thelittledog.co.uk with the subject heading Superstars 2019.
A great big THANK YOU in advance.
P.s Due to the large response to this competition, responding in person to each individual email can prove difficult as the timescale of this project is incredibly tight. Anna posts project updates via the news section on this website and on our Little Dog Facebook page but she will try her very best to respond to those who would like an acknowledgement that their email has been received.

Hello Anna
I have scanned this a few times to see whether one is permitted to send more than one photo?
My Border Terrier Sir Jack Spratticus is keen to have a go but as I have thousands of photos it is terrifically hard to narrow down to one photo. This will be our first go and as fans I can’t think how missed this previous years. While we compose a doggie autobarkography together we thought to confirm my silly question. We can’t imagine it will be more than one, as you must be inundated but we thought to double check as I know there’s going to be a toss up.
All the best
Hello Ness
Yes you are more than welcome to send in your photos by the bucket load. I’m greedy like that! Kind regards, Anna Danielle
My Golden Retriever Monty is very posh and regrettably has to share his house and belongings with 2 chocolate Labradors who are, in his opinion “very common”. Can he share his feelings with you? (in photographic form, that is).
