If you are considering undertaking a little road trip to pay us a visit, it might be handy to know the following.
We are only here until December 31st. Just a few short weeks to make the most of us. In our little shop, you can expect to find our exclusive, limited edition handmade creations, one-off samples of products we have yet to press the big red button on, all our latest gift offerings plus some end of line ranges which we still like and thought maybe you would too!
About our location.
Park Farm Shopping Centre
Built in the 1960’s it feels like it has it’s very own microclimate so we would highly recommend a warm coat due to the wind tunnel experience on the main concourse. It is a friendly shopping area, with 2hrs free parking, providing local amenities for local people. Incredibly handy when you can’t face town but we would like to stress it is not a destination shopping location. Bister Village it is not!
The postcode is DE22 2QQ and we are located down the side alley next to the Greedy Pig Butchers or up the alley from the library. We are open Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm and every Sunday throughout December 10am to 4pm and of course dogs are most welcome. We are running the shop via the goodwill of friends and family so if you wanted to meet Anna, in particular, do ring ahead to see which days she is working.
To make the most of your day trip you might like to know the following. If you are starving hungry then our gorgeous friend Nicola at the Four Seasons Cafe does a delicious ham, egg and chips.
If you are only a little bit peckish and get here before 11am then there is Birds the Bakery which does a great sausage, stuffing and applesauce cob. If you have never been to Birds before then forget artisan breads and think more, cream cakes and soft rolls that your Nan would like.
And our third eating recommendation would be George’s Fish and Chip shop which does the best fish in the country furthermost away from any coastline!
If you need a gift or greeting card for the none doggy people in your life (we’re assuming you have one or two!) then please do pop into the gift shop A Little Mooch.
We have been suppliers to Jen and Sarah for a number of years now and they have built a lovely gift shop full of feminine treats.
You can also find a few charity shops if you enjoy bargain hunting and the pet shop sells fresh dog bones for about £1. My furry boy highly recommends them. And for other practical needs, there is a Wilko’s and a small Boots the Chemist plus the very handy Co-op.
Plan your visit
One of the hopes of this little pop-up venture is to motivate Anna to create new artwork. With this in mind, she has challenged herself to a small exhibition. As with many of the great 3am ideas in Anna’s little head, sometimes they don’t quite succeed, so it would be wise to stay tuned to her Facebook page to see just how she is fairing and which of her talented friends have managed to send a little of their work to include in the show.
If you are going to make a day of it and have the dog with you, then you might like to visit the following. Darley Park. Quite possibly the best park in the world and one of Anna’s most favourite places. It has a dog-friendly cafe, a river and is quite hilly in places.
A short drive, approx 1o minutes, from the little dog laughed shop is the rather lovely Kedleston Hall.

and from there if you fancy lunch in a good nearby pub which is dog-friendly, try the Joiners Arms. You’ll have to book for the restaurant but the bar area is turn up as you please and this is where dogs are permitted.

Hope that helps. We will continue to update this post with places to visit and eat in Derby itself! Safe journey, Team Little Dog.
Good luck to you!
I am too far away, in the highlands of Scotland, otherwise I would be over to see you.
All the best,
Grania Skeldon
We are sorry to have missed a chance to visit your pop up shop at the end of last year but hope that you will perhaps repeat the experience this year? I have been buying Little Dog goodies for many years, having first discovered Anna ”s talent in the lovely gift/card shop in Parliament Arcade Harrogate. I have shed many a tear and had many a laugh reading & viewing each new creation. Your calendars too have graced my kitchen wall since their inception & are a constant source of joy.
I have only just discovered your website & was thrilled to discover that Anna is about my age and not a frail elderly retired lady as I assumed her to be after all these years of “creating” ! I have had great pleasure ordering directly from you & was thrilled to receive such a beautifully wrapped box of goodies last week. It was better than Christmas! I photographed each stage of the unwrapping even though each item was tantalisingly semi visible through the beautiful tissue paper. I have already had many hours of pleasure smiling at our Nellie next to Scruffy Love on the settee. We had always had Jack Russell before we rescued her from Animal Care in Scotforth near Lancaster nine years ago. I am now looking forward to next month’s “new releases” for my collection. Much woof.
